The Horus Hotel Zamora is located in a building from the late 19th Century where previously the Bank of Spain was situated.

In 1904 the architect Segundo Viloria designed a new building maintaining the previous structure and you can see an example in the Boveda Restaurant that used to be first the Safe for the Bank of Spain and after used by the Lobos family as a Cellar.The building was constructed in 1916 by the Lobo family who were specialist importers and exporters of cereal and other products from Europe Africa and America.In most recent times the building was the office for the newspaper: La Opinion de Zamora and from 2001 after a complete and laborious restoration respecting the building structure the former mansion was turned into a four star hotel cosy and elegant in a beautiful mix of Art Noveau and Modernism style.
